THE PROCLAIMERS

Check out THE PROCLAIMERS ft/ BRIAN POTTER & ANDY PIPKIN in “(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles”. It’s in stores now, and available as a download following the Comic Relief performance last week. The download has already put “500 Miles” at No. 3 in the Official UK Singles Chart after only a few days. The huge success of PETER KAY’s last Comic Relief single “Amarillo” for Red Nose Day 2005, spurred on his decision to create this new project and release this song; the hope is that it will raise even more money this time around. In a never to be repeated collaboration, Phoenix Night’s BRIAN POTTER and Little Britain’s ANDY PIPKIN actually added their vocal talents to those of cult Scot band THE PROCLAIMERS to deliver a hilarious and rousing version of the 80’s anthem. PETER KAY produced and directed the project, and said “It’ll lift people up and hopefully do a lot of good in the process. It was great of THE PROCLAIMERS and MATT LUCAS to help bring the idea to life.” MATT LUCAS, a lifelong PROCLAIMERS fan said “THE PROCLAIMERS are my absolute favourite band of all time. It was a great honour to be allowed to destroy one of their greatest songs.
