JESSE McCARTNEY
JESSE MCCARTNEY, the US singer/songwriter with two million album sales, reinvents his sound and is launching a full scale assault on the British charts with his new single "Leavin’" which is released on June 2, 2008, on Hollywood Records via The Angel Music Group. "Leavin’", produced by Tricky and The-Dream, the team behind Rihanna’s "Umbrella", marks a distinct change in direction for JESSE. A hook-laden electronic delight, the song sounds at home in the stable of pop while dipping its toes firmly in urban waters. The track is bound to set airwaves alight across the UK and, with mixes by MSTRKRFT, is poised to become the soundtrack to the dance floor this spring. The single is the first to be taken from JESSE’s new album "Departure." A record he describes as "fresh" and "more mature" than his sound of old. It features collaborations with the industries most in-demand producers. In addition to Tricky and The-Dream, Sean Garrett (Usher, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce), Balewa Muhammad (Christina Aguilera), JR Rotem (Britney Spears, 50 Cent) and The Clutch (Timbaland, Ciara) all contribute to produce MCCARTNEY’s edgier pop/urban/electronic sound. While working in the studio creating songs for his new alum, JESSE co-wrote (alongside One Republic’s Ryan Tedder) a track already familiar to millions across the globe, in the form of the Leona Lewis mega hit "Bleeding Love". "It was very intense for me as a songwriter to have Clive Davis (Chairman of the RCA Music Group) pick one of my songs and then to have it be such a huge success. It has certainly encouraged me to write more for other artists". The song has so far reached number one in 15 countries and became the fastest selling single of 2007 in the UK. (All this and he’s only 20…..)
