ALANIS MORISSETTE

ALANIS MORISSETTE previews her upcoming album "Flavors Of Entanglement" with the release of the single "Underneath" on May 26th on Maverick/Reprise. "Flavors Of Entanglement" follows a week later on June 2nd. Produced by Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Madonna, Imogen Heap), "Underneath" reflects Mahatma Gandhi's notion that "you must be the change you want to see in the world". "I often write in retrospect, but this was written in real time," she commented. "This record helped me through some fragile moments. Every song was like a life raft." "There's not another artist, male or female, who can take you on the kind of emotional journey that ALANIS can," said Sigsworth. "She can be raging and hostile, distraught and desolately heartbroken, glowingly nostalgic, sensual, breezy and self-deprecating – all in one album." ALANIS MORISSETTE has enjoyed remarkable success since breaking through with 1995's "Jagged Little Pill", selling over 40 million albums and collecting seven Grammy Awards in the process. Having recently impressed with a North American tour, ALANIS returns to the UK in June for performances at Carling Academy in Birmingham on June 18th, and Brixton Carling Academy on June 19th.
